1. The practical problems that call for solution are to ensure that a kidney transplant is not rejected by the immune response or to accentuate an inadequate immune attack on a malignant tumour . They require a deeper probe into the uncanny capacity of the body to recognise the intrusion of material foreign to itself , be it a virus , bacterium , cell or whatever , and to mobilise cells and cell products to help remove that particular sort of intruder with greater speed and effectiveness .

जिन व्यावहारिक प्रश्नों के उत्तर ज्ञात करने के लिए प्रयास किये जा रहे हैं उनमें गुर्दे के प्रतिरोपणा के पश्चात शरीर द्वारा उसे अस्वीकार किया जाना तथा कैंसरीय ट्यूमर प्रतिरक्षा के दौरान किये जाने वाले हमलों को तीव्र बनाना सम्मिलित हैं .

2. इन कविताओं के तीन मुख्य रूप हैं - संस्मरणों की पुनरावृत्ति , स्मृतियों से समृद्ध , पीछे छोडे हुए दीर्घ पथ की ओर मुडकर देखने का आग्रह , भावनाप्रधान सीमाओं की विस्तृति तथा सामान्यतया अवहेलित , घृणित , त्याग किए हुए समाज के विधि - निषेधों को पार कर उनके प्रति सहानुभूति का भाव पोषण . तथा यह उनकी एक अदम्य इच्छा थी कि बंग्ला भाषा के शब्द समूहों तथा छंदों को उनकी अंतिम परिणति तक पहुंचाना तथा इनके तथाकथित विरूप स्वरूपों के बीच भी संगीतपरक संरचना की संभावना का पता लगाने का प्रयास करना . यह समझना कदाचित उचित नहीं होगा कि गद्य कविता शैली की ये चार पुस्तकें , चाहे ये अवरोध हों या प्रगामी या ढंग विकास उनका अंतिम पडाव बन गईं , जहां वे अपने स्वाभाविक रूप से लौट न पाए .
